If you're taking cash for tickets, or if your tickets are free, Tixato is completely free.
If you want to accept credit cards, either in person or online, then we charge 7.9% plus 32¢ per transaction, which includes credit card processing fees. You can play around with our pricing widget to see what this looks like for specific ticket prices.
After signing up for Tixato, we need some additional information about your organization. We'll request that you fill out a W-9 form and tell us where to mail your checks. With that information in hand, we can get you set up.
In short: we'll almost always be able to get you up and running in one day, especially if it's a business day.
Currently, we can only provide credit card processing for US-based organizations that sell tickets priced in US dollars. We do plan on eventually providing credit card processing worldwide.
We'll mail you a check every month. We're working on supporting direct deposits to your bank account.
All support is currently handled over email – drop us a line at support@tixato.com, and we'll get back to you very quickly. We pride ourselves on rapid (and helpful) email support. Please feel free to get in touch with us, we'd love to hear from you.
Sure! If you just need to sell tickets online, Tixato will work just fine. Just create an event, set up your account for credit card processing, and you're good to go. You'll be able to view sales reports and get your checks mailed to you just the same as any other organization using Tixato.
... and why are tickets so complicated?
Price groups are, so far, the simplest way we could come up with to give as many different organizations as possible the tools they need to set prices for their events. A Price Group, in short, is a collection of one or more of prices that tickets to a specific performance can be sold for. One truth we have found as we've been working on Tixato is that no two theaters do pricing the same way. With price groups, you have complete control over prices of your tickets for every event you put on.
Every price group has a base price. This is the starting point for setting ticket prices and you can stop here if you want. If there's only one kind of ticket, and it always costs $25.00, for example, a price group with a base price of $25.00 is exactly what you want.
